claireAt SWS we believe our people are our greatest asset. Over the past 12 months, our Structures & Analysis team has been involved in the substantiation of a number of major programs for leading companies in the Airline Interiors market.

These companies which include B/E Aerospace, AIM Altitude, Zodiac Aerospace, Airline Services Interiors and Acro Aircraft Seating have come to SWS with a requirement for the structural substantiation of seating, closets, stowages or galleys. This substantiation which forms part of the overall certification process, involves SWS' expert and experienced stress, test and structures engineers employing a series of test and analysis methods in accordance with a detailed test plan.

On the testing side: our team can perform a series of static, dynamic, flammability or environmental tests, either in-house or using external test partners' facilities. On the analysis side, they can undertake windmilling, interface load, stress analysis and static / dynamic test plans.

SWS Structures team comprises 5 fully qualified stress engineers, of which 3 are also stress & mechanical CVEs.

As Claire Demarquet, Head of SWS' Structures & Testing Department explains:-

'Our team's experience and capability also gives us an opportunity to perform research and development on new products and materials, whilst also widening our scope of work by learning new types of analysis (e.g non-linear analysis)'

 

For implicit analysis, we use FEMAP analysis software. We have also acquired NX9, which is a finite element software with CAD/CAM/CAE capabilities.
