lighting header2SWS are pleased to announce its successful support for China Airlines by obtaining an STC for the installation of Skycouch™ on its B777-300 ER.

CAL took delivery of its first brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in September 2014. In late 2013, Air New Zealand had signed a licensing agreement with CAL allowing them to use the Skycouch™ concept which it will brand as the "Family Couch".

First introduced by the Kiwi national carrier five years ago, the so-called ‘cuddle class’ converts three economy class seats into a flat bed. Passengers booking two seats in a row of three can pay a supplementary fee to secure the third seat.

China Airlines will now roll out the new seating on all 10 of its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, deliveries of which will run from now until 2016

And of SWS' role, this is what China Airlines say...

J.S.Tseng: Manager, Cabin Interior Section,“SWS provide China Airlines great support and service with experience to obtain the EASA STC for "Family Couch" installation. They are the reliable partner of certification expertise.”

CAL launched its B777-300ER in October and operated the Taipei-Los Angeles route since December 1, followed by scheduled services to New York and San Francisco.
