SWS is approved by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UKCAA) and the company works hard to maintain its DOA (Design Organisation Approval) status. Our Company is regularly audited both internally, and by CAA, to ensure we continue to offer the high airworthiness approval and safety standards required by CAA and expected by our customers.

SWS’ SCOPE OF APPROVAL

SWS are approved for designing and certifying in accordance with the applicable type-certification basis and environmental protection requirements, changes, and repairs to aircraft in the following areas:

  • Avionics
  • Installation of Avionics Electrical Systems
  • Structures
  • Cabin Interiors
  • Environmental Control Systems

This approval also includes showing and verifying compliance with the applicable type-certification basis and environmental protection requirements, and demonstrating to the UKCAA this compliance.

  • CS-23 Normal, Utility, Aerobatic and Commuter Aircraft
  • CS-25 Large Aeroplanes
  • CS-27 Small Rotorcraft
  • CS-29 Large Rotorcraft

SWS IS APPROVED BY UK CAA
AS A PART 21 SUBPART J DESIGN ORGANISATION

 

PRIVILEGES…

  • SWS can perform design activities under part 21 and within its scope of approval.
  • SWS can produce compliance documents for obtaining supplemental type certificates(STCs).
  • SWS can classify changes to type design and repairs as “major” and “minor” and approve the minor changes to type design and minor repairs.
  • SWS are approved to issue technical information or instructions under the authority of their DOA.
  • We can approve minor revisions to the aircraft flight manual and supplements.
  • SWS can approve the design of major repairs to products for which it holds the supplemental type certificates.
